Luminaria: the un-Lamening?


I missed the first Luminaria, not having returned to my hometown from NYC yet. I understood it as the brain-baby of then-Mayor Phil Hardberger, inspired by the “White Night” of Paris, a yearly festival during which the city celebrates arts of every genre and medium. It’s a terrific idea, and we’re the city to pull it off, with our overflowing pool of talent, San Antonians’ penchant for big friendly public gatherings, and the historic, walkable downtown that attracts so many en-Segway-ed white people in Bermuda shorts year-round.
