Ansen Seale gets a little more action from his old family pianoA prime Sunday afternoon in San Antonio, and more than a dozen artists were glue-gunning their way through 20 years of pop-culture surplus to support the Artist Foundation of San Antonio. Each year beginning in 2006, the Foundation has handed out $5,000 grants to local artists to support the creation of original work (2010 recipients include PDA staff writer Sarah Fisch), filling a gap in local government and philanthropic arts funding, which is almost exclusively awarded to nonprofit organizations rather than individuals.
